Arpan is a New Delhi based NGO that has been working in the field of alternate education, especially learning through art education since 2010.
Arpan uses learning as a powerful tool but in a more fun way for life skills training or to bring about behavior changes in children within the age group of 7-17 years. These children are usually from disadvantaged backgrounds like urban slums, shelter homes or are children with special needs. Arpan uses performing and visual arts such as story telling, theater, painting and wall painting in providing constructive play activities. The dual aim of their programs is to mobilize the youth and then place them as positive role models to their direct beneficiaries, that is the children.
They need volunteers to help out with educational art projects.
Arpan has a tri-pronged approach to meet their goals. They first start with training children from slums and those with special needs with necessary life skills . This is combined with social and environmental sensitization with school children. All of it is topped with active youth mobilization and maximum participation to bring forth best possible results.
